LaJuan Humbert, ALC, NCC

LaJuan received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Sports Management from Troy in 1999 and her Masters in Counseling from Troy in 2021. She has been working in the health and fitness industry for the past 15+ years as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor as well as serving several years as Executive Director of the Moorer YMCA in downtown Mobile. LaJuan joined Hurley Counseling in January 2020.

She is passionate about building relationships with people and engaging their personal stories in a compassionate and non-judgmental way. She believes that it is an honor to have the privilege of offering encouragement, guidance, and hope to others as they walk their journey of healing and wellness. This passion is what led her to pursue her Master’s in Counseling as she has seen the critical importance of helping others pursue not only physical health, but mental, emotional, and spiritual health as well. She believes that integrating mind, body, and spirit is essential to the healing process and leads to a greater experience of personal awareness and holistic well-being. She is excited about incorporating this integrative approach as she work with adolescents, adults and couples at Hurley Counseling. She values a collaborative and multi-faceted approach in working with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, abuse, trauma, PTSD, grief/loss, emotional and relational issues, and mood disorders. She uses a combination of therapeutic interventions to best serve each client:
Attachment Theory
Narrative Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Mindfulness
Internal Family Systems
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Solutions Focused
Exposure Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
