LaJuan Humbert is joining Hurley Counseling as an intern in January 2021 as she completes the final year of her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Troy University. LaJuan received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Sports Management from Troy in 1999 and has been working in the health and fitness industry for the past 15+ years as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor as well as serving several years as Executive Director of the Moorer YMCA in downtown Mobile.
LaJuan is passionate about building relationships with people, engaging their personal stories and having the privilege of getting to walk with them, guide them, and encourage them along their journey of health and wellness. This passion is what led her to pursue her Master’s in Counseling as she has seen the critical importance of helping others pursue not only physical health, but mental, emotional, and spiritual health as well. LaJuan believes that integrating mind, body, and spirit is essential to the healing process and leads to a greater experience of personal awareness and holistic well-being. She is excited about incorporating this integrative approach with individual clients and groups at Hurley counseling.
In her free time, LaJuan enjoys anything outdoors, traveling, writing, and adventures with her husband, Tim, and their four kiddos.
